Jakarta - To follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises on Synergy in Preventing Terrorism within the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises on October 11, 2019, BNPT and PT Pertamina (Persero) continued to discuss the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Preventing Terrorism within PT Pertamina (Persero) on Friday (7/5/21) in Jakarta.
In the previous discussion, both parties agreed to eliminate the legal basis of the Law and replace several words, such as the use of the words 'countermeasures' or 'prevention' in the title of the PKS.
In today's meeting, it was agreed to change the word 'penanggulangan' to 'pencegahan' in the title of the PKS, this change is based on Government Regulation Number 77 of 2019. Then, both parties agreed to remove the use of the word 'Criminal Act' in the PKS draft, because it is in accordance with the MOU which is the legal umbrella, and agreed to remove Part Four in the PKS draft concerning the Preparation of Standardization of Counterterrorism in the Framework of Protecting National Vital Objects in Public Areas of PT Pertamina (Persero).
Furthermore, both parties also agreed to change several points in the scope, as well as adjust the rights and obligations of each party. Through the discussion of this PKS, it is hoped that both parties will find a point of understanding regarding the objectives and scope of the formation of this Cooperation Agreement.
In closing, it was agreed that further discussions would be held online, because there are points that must be discussed internally by PT Pertamina (Persero), before being scheduled for signing.
